#JealousCurator brought to our attention this amazingly detailed and beautiful work by artist, Rogan Brown. Layers upon layers of intricate paper cutting imagery.

“My work plays with the architecture of nature and organic growth. Ok, this is not just an opportunity to post my favourite movie of all time,

Paper Quilling - an ornamental craft where paper is contorted and shaped into visually appeasing patterns. 

This technique is new to me, but how I love learning about artists who quit their day jobs to become full time artists. In this case, Istanbul artist Sena Runa is living the oh so beautiful paper crafting dream.

This stunning public art sculpture was installed at the Italian Festival Meeting del Mare. “Incipit” is made by wire mesh to create the static architectural shape that contrasts beautifully with the free form movement of birds. The installation was made by hand with mesh wire to allow for uninterrupted views of the Italian coast of Marina di Camerota.

The installation was curated by artists Edoardo Tresoldi, Simone Pallotta, and Antonio Oriente. If you didn’t already have a reason to visit Italy!
